About Jinke van Dam Consultancy

I have founded Jinke van Dam Consultancy in 2010. I am a highly experienced and motivated consultant with more than 20+ years of international experience in sustainable value chains and land use for all kinds of biomass end-uses (fuel, heat, power, materials, food and feed).

The global sustainability challenges of today (climate change, degradation, food security) are complex and ask for integrated solutions.  There is no single solution and action is needed from all sectors involved (e.g. agriculture, forestry, finance or governance).

My educational background and working experience in both the agricultural and forestry sector, and in the biobased economy, make me highly effective to understand and connect these worlds and to develop sustainable strategies and innovative solutions.

I have strong analytical skills and profound knowledge in sustainable land uses and their governance, landscape approaches, impact assessments, certification systems and commodities.

I believe it is crucial to have a good understanding of the social and economic context to develop long-lasting solutions. Over the years, I have worked in various parts of the world as Europe, Asia and Latin America, while having worked and lived in Vietnam, Curacao and in Argentina, where I learnt to speak Spanish.

I have advised a large and diverse group of national and international clients including the European Commission, UN organizations, national Ministries, large energy utilities and Ngo’s.

I often work in multidisciplinary teams and in close cooperation with other organisations and consultants. By working with highly skilled people in my network from different fields, synergies are created.

As an Associate, I am working closely with IINAS (the International Institute for Sustainability Analysis and Strategy). This is an independent trans-disciplinary research organization on sustainability analysis and strategy.
